I was a former linebacker at Marietta College, where I received a degree in Petroleum Engineering. I was introduced to CrossFit in 2010. The "Filthy Fifty" was my first WOD, and after overcoming the urge to lose my lunch, I knew it was legit. I also enjoy competing and love traveling for competitions.
Since starting CrossFit, I have been in the best shape of my life and have improved on all of my max lifts, to exceed PRs from my peak college football days. In high school I played football, baseball, track and wrestling. I have completed two marathons so far, to include the OKC Memorial...in Vibram Five Fingers (do not try this)! Yes, you will see some high intensity cardiovascular workouts in my programming.
OKC Marathon Finisher: 4:20 (2011)
San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon Finisher: 3:20 (2013)
Parkersburg Half Marathon fastest finish: 1:32
3x Tuff Mudder Finisher (Virginia, Georgia, Texas)
Before I became a gym owner, I worked as a MWD for Schlumberger. I am originally from Parkersburg, West Virginia. I have a crazy Lab, Huck...and you might see him every now and then hanging out at the gym! I am excited to bring Black Dog CrossFit to Lawton and to be a part of this great community.

I am excited to be coaching at Black Dog. Originally from Indiana, I got involved in sports at a young age and continue to enjoy playing a variety of sports. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I moved to North Carolina where I met my husband Mike who is in the Army. We moved a few more times around the south, and are now in Lawton. I earned my Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine from Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah. I have done a marathon, too many to count half-marathons, triathlons, and duathlons.
My husband introduced me to high intensity training a couple of years ago, and I have been hooked ever since. I find it very fulfilling to help people reach their fitness and wellness goals, and enjoy the environment and techniques that Black Dog utilizes to promote this.
